Facilities

LMaSS is housed in the Materials Science Building at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Our facilities include:  Scanning probe microscopy (SPM) Auger electron and x-ray photolectron Spectroscopy (AES/XPS)  Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)  Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS)  X-ray Diffraction (XRD)  Atomic oxygen and neutral beam processing Thin film deposition lab These facilities are availabe for use by faculty, staff, and students at UAH and other Alabama universities as well as researchers within the local Huntsville community and the state of Alabama.  We have established a searchable database to provide references with further information about the above techniques. We also have posted course notes about Electron Spectroscopies for Surface Characterization..
